This image needs to be viewed in a really big size in order to be appreciated for all the lighting and tonal nuances. But once they are noticed, they delight with their subtlety. One thing I am not sure about is that round white hole in the sky. What is that? Ahhh... that's the sun... Wink In my opinion, it's harshness contrasts too much with the delicate tonality of the rest of this image.

i love the subtle tones as eob stated and think that the sun could be crop right out of the picture or if you could even take the red hue around the sun and get rid of it that might work. My feeling though is the sun just sucks the energy out of the picture.... did you use a filter on this?

Without the sun, it is a lovely image. But then, it's just another lovely image. Smiley

For me, the sun is the whole point -- it's position in the scene as both a destination and a strong influence. A guiding light.

Yep, I think the sun is one of the things that need to be there in this shot. Thanks for your comments!

I was not saying that the sun does not belong there. I just felt that it should be more subtle and diffused - just like the rest of the atmospheric effect creating such delicate gradation of tones...
