I understand that in order to make that rainbow (or is it a "snowbow"? Smiley ) visible, you had to darken the whole image. But I think you overdid it a bit. I would try to lighten it up and maybe play with contrast and saturation - perhaps applied locally?

This reminds me of situations where fantastic things are happening in the sky, but I'm in my car or on the ground in a location where there is just *no* good angle of view. Argh!

But... Have you considered a square crop to just below the level of the swirling clouds? I'm not sure that's stronger; just one suggestion.

I don't think I've ever seen a winter rainbow. Cool. Smiley

Sometimes, the tiny icicles in the air make up this kind of an effect. I'm not sure what exact weather conditions are necessary for it to happen...
