Do you look at or through a photo?

Okay, I want to dig into the gritty, dark, and edgy chunks of cultural murk so that visitors will think that I am deep, intellectual, and insightful. Yes, I want to find the spittle, and phlegm of life lurking under the rocks of our collective ids. But then, as the sun sets on a South Carolina beach there are a couple of kids way far away... dancing in the day's last light. And I crank my telephoto  far out and trigger a burst of pixel netting to haul them onto my Flash Card. And... and... as I see the children so happily dancing to their imagined music... I chuckle and the murky darkness under the rocks remains unexplored for one more night.... Sigh...  Wink

Great idea for a sequence! No posing, no inhibitions, no faking. Instead, we get spontaneity of a child's play and an authenticity of movement.

One complaint I could have is that the two images at left (first top and first bottom) look like they belong to a separate sequence. But the four at right are visually playing together very well.

Oh, I remember...

Being 5, walking hand-in-hand with my boyfriend over the snowcrust, breaking through together.

And being 6, when my new boyfriend offered a daisy picked from the meadow on his way over to visit.

Joyous innocence.

I do like the way those shots produce a feeling of intimacy. I become silent to not disturb the dance. This is like watching elves dancing in the night... How many times have we the oportunity to watch such a wondrous scene, and we pass by because we are too fast, too loud and too absorbed with unimportant daily stuff...

I only wish, the color scheme would be less plastic like. Well, I understand that the bold colors also have their meaning and legitimacy... I only think they are almost louder than the rest of the scene. Maybe a tiny local desaturation would already help me a lot.

cheers
