Do you look at or through a photo?

Somewhere between imagination and execution there's what? Talent? Skill? Technique? Process? How to overcome the limits of your ability to show what you imagine? We have the most technical of all of the fine arts... Technique both permits and limits. How much of what we finally do overcomes enough of the compromises that technology imposes to finally show what we wondered? Hmmm.....

Once again the Geek stuff's over on my blogsite... Enjoy this Amish thingee... I hope.  WinkWink

"Talent? Skill? Technique? Process?"

I think all of the above is critical. Take one out of the equation and you get mediocrity. Take two out and you get total mess. Take three out... OK, don't even bother!  Lips sealed

There is very few people on the planet who possess all of these prerequisites. All the rest of us either fake art or attempt to better ourselves.

I keep a book of photo-projects which I started back in late 1970s. I got around 170 of those projects so far. But only a small fraction of them has been realized. The rest of them is still too tough for me to even attempt to approach. Maybe I will gain enough skills to get half of them done before I die.  Roll Eyes
