The proble I had with patty paper before is that is absorbed so slowly that the ink ran on top of the paper, standard printing paper at only 80 g/m2 cannot hold much ink it is absorbant but there it too much ink so details are lost as it spreads and blurs in the paper, The printer should get here in about half hour and I have two makes of patty paper ready for test I'll let you know

well I have been successful in printing on patty matt paper, it requires 60-75 % the ink that the plain paper settings gives out and some areas may need a little more saturation if they are pale anyway like the sky, as I am spraying the prints as well that should stop them from fading eliminating a 15 eurocent per 10X15 cm sheet of photo paper, so hopefully I can be quite cost effective.
I have now received the external ink tank kit, for 45 € it has the four dummy cartridges and 4 external tanks containing 65 ml each so I think it is well worth it just in terms of the quantity of ink, hopefully they won't wack on the refill costs, only thing is the external kit is water based not pigmented so I don't know if it will make any difference on my paper of choice will have to see

well so far so good the print quality on patty matt paper is good, I will perhaps have to do a test print or two but if I am asked to do 50 postacards it is worth it (I do test prints at a smaller size anyway) the paper I get free at work hopefully the water based ink in the external ink tank kit will work the same as the original pigment based ink I am spraying them with lacquerer anyway to prevent ink fading
