To me colors of this shot are disturbing. Very unusual palette. I would probably tried and processed it to a black & white version.

There is such a soft contrast between the foreground and background.  I think if the background would have been any more orange it would have way too much contrast with the plant (?).  Is this a photoshop shot or studio?  The detail in the foreground is great.

Thank you for the comments. It's a dandelion shot, simply inverted in Photoshop. I adjusted the background color slightly, but there was not much room for fiddling left, as the hairs are so transparent in the outer areas that changing the background color gave the hairs a ugly color cast. I also was giving a desaturated and lightened background a try, but didn't succeed - so I left it the way it is now. I can't say I dislike the color palette, regardless as unusual as it is.
