Excellent quality of light, interesting use of perspective and lines running into the depth, leading my eyes through the scene. I especially like the combination of the color contrast and the feeling of space created by the architecture details.
The warm, golden cast on the sign, the repetition in the upper left corner as well as faintly on the lines is, in combination with the cooler blue-green parts, very pleasing and gives the scene a noble feel.
Looking at this shot makes me feel like I have arrived at the place of my striving. The gold sign seems to say "welcome, you finally found your perfect place, your home". The arcs give me the feeling of being sheltered, yet the lines suggest room, vast room, not confinment.
A very strong shot. I like it a LOT, and I like it much better than the other shot you posted (Die Bahn).
cheers

Great shot, Ernie. Roland said it very well, so I will just follow his lead.

the square crop works well here.
just the issue of resolution - the jaggering of the lines - needs to be addressed
nice, strong shot - i like it!

Thanks so much for such great comment Habakuk. I am also happy others liked it too.
ilchkai - i don't know how it is in Windows browsers, but on my Mac browsers i simply click right mouse on image to open it in new window, so i can see it without any problems then, in full resolution

I am not sure what kind of problem
ilchkai
is talking about. I do not see any jagged lines either. Well, nothing out of ordinary...

Thats most probably a issue with the way the browser renders the resized pictures. The forum only adds html scaling. I checked the settings and noticed the maximum height was set to 700 pixel. So, a square shot with 800 pixel has been resized in HTML. I just fixed that to allow 800*800 pixel. The shot now should not be resized at all.
cheers
