Here, the line leading into the shot works for me, but you have some artefacts from sharpening or from other postprocessing steps. There is a siginificant halo around the gangway and the building. I like how the lines on the left lead me into the shot, and the tiny line on the right leads me out of the shot. The vertical lines are quite heavily slanted, so I'd say some work is required here.

cheers

i like your industrial, gritty photography.

roland is right the halo is a bit distracting... i like the grain, the lines, especially on the tall building are a bit too wonky for my liking... the sky on the right is a bit too blown out - and overall the sky needs more texture. i do think that this would make a very good and interesting large print (very large print...).

maybe if you re-take it on a day with a dramatic sky this would work really well.

Yes, gritty is the right word. Ernie, I think you've just got yourself your own style in photography. Cheesy  It's modern, it's somewhat going against stiff rules, but still within general aesthetics. I like it too. It is interesting to watch the path you are traveling...

BTW, I may be wrong, but I think that all halos, grain, harsh color (in some other photos) and slanted lines are a concious part of that punky, gritty treatment that Ernest gives his images.

Yeah. I'm trying to add this kind of "noise" facture to some elements like buildings, etc. Also i like clear sky, that's why i did it like this. But thanks for your suggestions. I know myself that this is not  very excellent photo. But as far i am still not a professionalist in photo-edition. I am learning all the time Wink
