Been a while since i posted...been extremely busy hear latly...  I have taken on 2 new DCs to care for in IT, as well as expanded my personal business a good bit.

I just wanted to stop in and say that I was still alive...and here some of the last shots that I had done for myself.

These have been some of my favorite fireworks photos I have ever taken...  fun stuff to shoot for sure.  For me... they capture 4 key elements in the world...  Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth...  tying these 4 things into the photo is kind of cool, as well as bringing it into a "classical" state I think...

Sometimes it pays to go back a few pages in the board's index. That's just what I did today and I found this photo that I overlooked before (seemingly - everybody did).

It is striking, how much this firework reminds me of a palm tree! I almost see in my mind's eye a backdrop of Las Vegas' casinos and their elaborate neon artwork... Perhaps that impression is reinforced by a very sharp rendition of both "fronds" and "trunk".

One thing that might add a bit of impact to the composition could be slightly different cropping. I would probably add some more background on top and left (or move the crop in such a way that the "palm tree" would be in the right lower corner).

This has to be one of the best photographs of fireworks I've ever seen.

Because...? I can see the artistry of the firework creator, and feel my experience as a viewer. A definite "ohhhhhhhh!" Palm tree, for sure.

One thing I love is the soft light coming forward along the river. One thing that detracts a bit is the silhouetted tree on the right edge.

Thanks, eob, for bringing this image back up to view.

Thanks for pulling the thread up again.
This photo is really good. I see the palm as well.

I like this cropping. It focuses very nice on the fireworks.

These are very good, I like the crispness of the work. The timing was right on not to many trails just enough. Good job. I think if you cropped from the left and right, leaving it dead center but elongating it giving you the feeling of the moment. Hope to see more!
