Do you look at or through a photo?

Bought this vintage car from a guy who owns a convenience store when we visited Pittsburgh at Christmas. Can you believe it's in original condition? And it got to the dunes of E. Dennis, Massachusetts from here in Lancaster unbelievably fast. Oh, click here and you can see perhaps a better view of the two-seated, stick-shift-on-the-floor, beauty where I keep it at my Lancaster studio. I imagine it looks a tad more romantic though - sparkling in the glare of a high grass sunset on Cape Cod, no? Whuh-duh-ya think? Wink

I know the highlights are burnt out. I burnt them out for the same reason that the magician waggles his left hand before his right arm dips into the "empty" hat for a rabbit.

I like this, It has a really interesting 'gone with the wind' colorization that give it an almost cartoon quality to it. reminds me of a good jazz tune played on a record player with a slightly worn needle, the soft warm sound of a tenor saxophone with the rustling noise from the needle and dust in the air. with a quiet simple piano melody accompanying it.

I'm not sure what it is... but I always create a link between image to sound or turn a sound into image that recreates emotion but that's the way I feel it.

Hmmm. Missed this one. Yep, I do like the drama in the sky, the way it translates into a dramatic story where this car plays a big role... no hint at the true size of the car, and I think this is masterful. I don't like the sign on the right side very much, but that is just a minor distraction - the left side of the shot is so strong I can hardly get my eyes travel around. I very much like the lines (power lines?) - they add so much dynamics! Great shot again, Ted.

cheers

Seems like I've missed this shot, too...

I like the way Carlos compares this to a jazz music impression. I can relate to that... As to the sign on the right side (or is it a roadside phone-booth?), it doesn't distract me too much, because it is hidden in the darkness and - together with power lines - gives an impression of authenticity to this scene. A nostalgic, romantic, and yet edgy, scene taken from something like a "L.A. Confidential" movie.

I like this image, the power lines sweep you threw the top half of the picture while the grasses move you back. The car also has enough detail to keep you interested but not enough to take away all the mystery as; is this an old restored, just and old abandon, or just a good photographer. The sign does help me to place the car on the road or the side of the road but then it rules out it being in the middle of a field.  I like the way the light blows out the power lines but the color just doesn't work for me. the i would say either make the sky all shades of red to blown out or all blue with hints of red it looks like it was just thrown there to even out the composition and it does balance it but i would like to see it more subtle.

over all i really do like it.

I like the use of a panoramic too!
