Oh, that's the kind of image I especially like to see. Delicate lines and subtle colors in an abstract form and yet - classic composition (not that I got something against vivid colors and bold lines, mind you Cheesy ). The fluidity of muslin and the rhythm of sea waves... Very feminine and poetic...

Excellent... the lighting is as fascinating as the reduced geometry. Very smooth, like eob said: feminine appearance. it invites to dream, to assoiate - I am tempted to say this is one of the nicest Rorschach-inkblot-test pictures I ever saw. Cheesy

It has so much dynamics yet feels very calm, smooth, resting... really fascinating!

(Oh, and a simple inverting in PS brings out something that I personally like as much as the dark version...)

cheers

Wow, amazing image April. Where to start.

I've had to sit here for at least 5 minutes just enjoying this shot before I can even write anything past this point.

alot like how Eob said the delicacy of the lines and the colors flow fantastically. but something I felt beyond that was a sense of power. something that in it's color could easily blend into the black background has chosen to stand up and reveal itself to me (the viewer) it gives off a feeling of refined pride without arrogance and just lets my mind quiet itself as It decides to enjoy the beauty of simplicity without pages of numbers running through my mind.

Thank you, Roland and Dranged, for your comments!

@Dranged: this image reminds me somewhat of deep space, with the light coming from a sun-star. So I can relate to the idea of a sense of power, and am pleased that comes across to you.

@Roland: I was also intrigued by the inversion, because to me it suggests the human form. If there was just a bit more substance, I would definitely present that as a variation. Maybe I just need to look at it again after some time away from the black one!

I'd say it's well worth a try. Just create it, and then leave it sitting on your HD for a while... visit it every now and then, and see if love starts to develop or diminish Smiley

I for my part like both versions, they feel like two entirely different shots.

cheers

This picture hits me on soo many levels
1. I want to complement you on your use of simplicity not only does it work well here i have seen it in your other pieces.
2. the color is perfect as is the crop.

very powerful picture

It also reminds me of a picture i had seen in a show when i was in collage studying art. It was a picture of a note book page scotch taped to a board with a water bubble like water dropped on the page.

very 3d. i at the time couldn't understand how it could be art. I could tape a notebook page to a board. Then i looked closer and found no tape, nor notebook paper just the board it was painted on.  the 3d element of this is for me just as powerful and a lot more pleasing to the eye.

It would be interesting to see in different colors because it also reminds me of the northern lights.

Thank you for the inspiration.

Theo, thank you very much for your comments.

I'm still not "in love" with the inversion which is sitting on my hard drive, but I hadn't thought of trying different color variations! I appreciate that idea.

Somehow I missed this one.
It is just amazing! You can turn it, you can mirror it or even invert. It is in every version just pure graphical poetry!
