Oh, you chickened out! Wink

I much prefer other version ("Decorative Water"), because...

It makes me think of rain hitting the water, mist rising from that rain, and water falling down from above. The sky is strange in that one, but  I almost feel I'm looking up from below the ocean waters, and it works for me in context. (Perhaps the edges in the sky could be softened a touch.)

Or maybe you didn't chicken out, and simply wanted confirmation that this isn't nearly as...surprising, unusual, unique, or engaging. I love how you push the limits in "Decorative Water", while this seems to me more a wonderfully proficient but technical treatment.

Am a little tired. Hope I'm saying this well and responding appropriately, since you didn't even mention the other version!

I'm with April here. This version here doesn't really talk to me. The first version you posted on your blog, on the contrary, was very straight forward in tickling my imagination. I really loved the drastic reduction in that shot - the clear departure from photography, and the entrance to the realm of graphic story telling.

cheers

Usually, I go for an unadulterated version, but in this case, I like both manipulated images better than the original 'straight' shot. They are much more expressive, although each in a different way. The shot posted above is the stronger one, IMHO, and it could be one of those "one-image-stories" we were talking about some time ago.
