And a larger version: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3162/2607351605_7da214a292_b.jpg

Still exploring Versace's processing methods, so this includes a tiny touch of PS Lighting Effects.

Drive the background more to black? I'm not sure I mind the "mottled" effect, and am struggling with the question of controlling clipping in the printing inks...

Excellent again, April. I see a phyto-flame, I see a ring as a sign of eternity... and I see a "virgin" vase. These three elements form into a most exquisite scene. Lots of dynamics while it also is very calm, very feminine. The ring also make it whole, done, steady, finished in a good sense. Impressive work!

cheers

Ohhh, the "vessel!" You just brought it all together for me.

Thank you for your insight.

I agree. I wish I had such an uncompromising attention to details as you, April...

One more thing I love, is the way the vase and the dark background almost form a Jin/Yang... (inside the green ring) didn't noticed that straight away, but I love it!

Yes, that is a very good observation, Roland. Perhaps the shot is worth redoing - this time to make it look exactly like a yin-yang?

Do you look at or through a photo?

And yet no one felt the tear at the base of the feminine "O"? Hmmmmm.....

eob and Roland, thank you for your additional comments.

It's interesting to think back and wonder if I consciously "saw" the yin/yang when shooting. I'm not sure. But I know I did see it during processing!

I still have the scape in the fridge, but to re-shoot with that in mind strikes me as too obvious? Still, it would be a very good exercise, and if it continues to rain tomorrow morning... Smiley

It's interesting that you see the drop as a tear, Ted. Because I originally set it on the lower arc. Then it "fell", I said ohhh! And shot as fast as I could.

It felt right.

That position helps to calm down the scene... I love it that way.
