This is pretty intriguing. I like the feel it gives... I almost can hear the wind blowing in my ears  Smiley .

If i had to fix anything in the photo, it would be adding a bit more color to and light to the wings (assuming thats what they are Smiley )...   just to see them a bit more.

Electrical wires do not add anything valuable to this image (both visually and intellectually). I would get rid of them. Perhaps, I would also show a bit more (or less) of the far wing of the bird. I like high contrast and underexposure in this composition. I just feel a bit of an imbalance in the "weight" between the light central portion and the dark upper right portion of the image.

Oh, an idea is coming along... that's good! But... I get the feeling like there is no light in the bulb, it seems to come from behind. So it must be a dead idea going upwards to the bad-idea-heaven?  I do like the concept, the surprise the subject matter provides. I do like the color scheme, even if there is quite a bit of green cast in the light. On second look, there seems to be something sitting on top of the glass... on third look, I realize this is part of the far wing.  Like eob, I feel like the wires aren't any help here, and some more light on the left wing would improve the overall feeling of lightness. A little tilt so we can see at least a recognizable part of the far wing would be cool. And finally, I see a significant change in the brightness of the blue sky right and left of the cables...

Nevertheless, I like the idea!

cheers

thanks for the feedback - really helps! helped me to make a little philosophical breakthrough in my thinking about "path-dependency" in (my) photography: i still see the picture in terms of what it was what i captured - a funky lamp sitting on a window sill. that is why i never thought of removing the wires. the thought of the title came only just before posting the image, which started you guys on a different path of thought.

a mind stretched to a new idea never returns to its original dimension...

also thanks for the feedback on the technique (light, dark, left wing obfuscation, etc)
