I am happy to tell you we have a new member: Grisha.
Welcome! Glad to have you aboard.

Looking forward to share comments, critiques and pictures and advance on the path of photography.
Saying hello to new members is always are a good opportunity to recall the most basic but also the most important aspect of our board:

Advancing in the personal photography mastery is not mainly done by posting pictures and hoping someone will teach us how to improve, but by analyzing and discussing photographs of our fellow photosapiens. To learn to understand how a picture affects us (positive or negative doesn't matter), and asking why it does so - this is where the true advances in our ability to see before we press the shutter comes from. To hear from fellow photosapiens how they see and interpret a photograph is widening our perception and stimulating our creativity.

We still have a small but very constructive community here and I want to thank you all for being such a great group.

best regards
Roland

Same from me, Grisha.

In my own posts, I always try to put emphasis on the fact that this is - more than anything - an educational forum. Even though I have been photographing for some 37 years, I am constantly learning and this forum helps me to make my learning more efficient. We don't have room or time to spare for showcasing our greatest hits. Instead, we learn and we help others to learn. We are doing so by means of commenting on photos and discussing more general aspects of the art of photography. I hope, everybody else feels the same.

Do you look at or through a photo?

Great to have you Grisha... The rules here are clear...thoughtful critiques and sensitive reviews of everyone else's work. Abundant praise of my postings  Grin

Now if I can just get everyone else, particularly Roland and EOB to also follow those rules... Life will be good  Smiley

Just kidding, welcome. Looking forward to your work.
