No photo deserves zero response.  Smiley

I see interesting colors and structures in the right hand flower. But the composition leaves me a bit wondering. Looks like someone was trying to enhance the scene by following strictly the rules of third. Only it doesn't work for me here. Smiley This shot isn't touching me very much, and there's no story coming to my mind. But I can imagine how it felt, when you saw it in reality...

cheers

This is one of those shots that could be improved (even though only slightly) by a square crop eliminating the empty right side, which would put more focus on shapes rather than color. I happen to think that colors in this photo are completely "missing a target".

Interesting. I like this muted pair of complimentary violets and green/gold, which strike me as very rich. Perhaps it speaks especially to me now in autumn, even though iris typically bloom in spring.

I also enjoy the bokeh, backlight and detail in the forward flower.

In terms of composition, it is the other three flowers which give me difficulty but I can't define why. There is a repetition of shapes between pairs 1/3 and 2/4. But I think I wish the leftmost bud wasn't there. Without that, then I start to see a story of "unfurling" in the light.

Yes, April, the leftmost bud... that's a good point. That compo would probably work, if the DOF would be less tight, giving more a slide from blurred to sharp over the four buds. Otherwise, I'd like the left most one to be gone too.
