Heh. Now I see the "tongue" hanging out; the flag lowered (an association with our flags brought down at sunset). And overall it looks like its own tombstone, slightly leaning, and severely weathered by the years since its demise.

Oh yes, I subscribe to Aprils interpretation. The hanging tongue is most talkative ... I feel the dark area at the top is a bit too heavy, but the overall scene is much less cluttered and lets me explore the subject in great details.

Is it about the death of snail mail, or is it just about being used so many times that the traces of that useage become obvious? Is it a symbol for the demise of classic, emotionally packed communication through the means of handwritten letters? In emails, there can't be dried tears on the paper... and you cannot smell the perfume of the sender...
