THis one doesn't work for me at all. THat's a big contrast to the N°1 which has a very strong impact on me.

As much as I like to use a square format myself, it doesn't seem to work here. I would cut off about 1/4 of the bottom part. That would help me concentrate on the place where the real action takes place.

i'd be even more drastic - chop off the bottom half and get rid of that green cast. there is something i really like about reeds - there is motion and movement in them. the one, single, smaller runner towards the right of the image brings the composition together (if chopped in half, that is).

Oh, yes! My first impression is of heaviness, compared to what I typically respond to about grasses in the wind. But that one single focal point as a contrasting note is poignant.

It's let's beat up on Theo day. Okay... okay... I'm always easily whipped into a mob...
I'm also having trouble with the color mapping here Theo... It seems like LAB color which just doesn't rope me in. Something uninviting about it. Darn I wish I could be more specific. Sorry.
