This was taken during a snow fall here in Virginia Beach, VA this past Saturday.  It was the first measurable snow fall of the season and the first time in Va Beach history of having measurable snow fall in April.  (It was less than 1" though)

Nice separation of foreground and background, but at the cost of the subject's sharpness. Overall composition very pleasing. I like the slanted lines in the background. They give an impression of falling snow (or rain).

To me, this is a very interesting play of warm red color and a cold overall atmosphere. The fact the tulip is leaning out of the fram, towards the near border, seems to tell that the flower wants to leave the cold weather and find some sun where it can blossom and shine. I like the separation from the bg too, and the coolish green color fits the icy aspect of the snow flakes on the flower.

cheers
