Love the name, the color, and the movement of this image i don't know how i could handle it large though in the small picture my eyes keep moving in and through and out again. Then again larger would give some resting spots. I really like this image nice job.......

Speed. High speed. And somehow rather a well driven rock song than a symphony to me. Smiley I like the colors and the fact there is this "empty" space in the lower right. That gives some room to breath.

cheers

i saw this image when i came back from the pub late last night - i remember writing some elaborate booze fueled stream of consciousness, rambling on about speed, movement, kubrick's 2001, and so on - on second thought i deleted it because it was probably closer to the ravings of a mad man than some deep insight... i wish i had saved it for later review....

in any case, i really like this (stone sober now...), for its furious colours, madness and strange simplicity.

i just want to know what it is a picture of - although that might destroy the mystery

thanks for sharing

Thank you for your feedback Ted, Roland and Kai.

I think I'm going to test a canvas print -- because I've never had one made -- but also wonder if it would get tiring to live with.

It's interesting that you like the empty space, Roland, because that's the area my husband finds "too much." For me, it provide a base and a way in.

Kai, I'm sorry you trashed your note. Wink "2001: A Space Odyssey" is my favorite movie of all time. I hadn't thought of the image in that context, but it fits!

To answer your question, this was a loosely arranged stack of canoes in gorgeously brilliant hues at the end of a dock. They caught my eye from a distance, so I went there to play.

Do you look at or through a photo?

Abstract expressionism is frequently two dimensional. But will you be satisfied with that April? Noooooo! You swoosh me through the plane like a pilot at the controls of a stunningly complex craft. On the first level I'm left studying the technique and the closer I look... the more I'm pulled along like some kind of race dog chasing that mechanical rabbit. When abruptly the damned thing has me feeling all sorts of stuff about dimensions, palettes, and motion. It 's a kind of feeling blender... Just a wonder-filled thing April... and yeah... get ready for it... art without wonder is merely craft.

A caution... I've done a number of things on canvas and have grown to hate all of them. But this one I think is particularly an inappropriate candidate for canvas since its dimensions and colors shouldn't squooosh up among each other in a fabric texture that will blunt the contrasts and lanes that you have imagined here. Canvas is an innately romantic medium... This is not a romantic image...  Anywayzzzz... looking forward to hearing your reaction to the experiment.

Ted, thank you for your comments on this image and the caution! That makes perfect sense, and makes me wonder "What was I thinking?" Wink
