Heh; fun. Dark on the left, light on the right, mottled in the middle. The divisions left and right combine to create a whole in the center, while also emphasizing the juxtaposition of rectilinear and curved. The 3 foreground cones tie it all together.
There is so much going on, the conversion to toned b&w seems a perfect choice.
One critical thought was to flip, so light comes in from the left and moves to dark (as we read). Curiously, that seems to weaken the balance!

Perhaps because of our unconscious association of our coming from the dark past toward the bright future?

like the contrast and the detail of this but on the same i think it would be better to isolate the center subject in a square. way to much going on within the wings of the picture..
