Although I am well aware that this is a photo, it feels more like a pastel drawing. It is very moody - I guess this type of a technique is especially good for conveying mood rather than any kind of a message or an idea.

I am a bit thrown off by an excessive amount of dark vignetting on the left side - it doesn't seem to balance well with the rest of the photo. Nice experiment, though...

This one doesn't work as well for me, but still, I love to follow your experiments. Although time and energy is very limited for me right now, I wanted to share my thoughts to maybe add to your motivation...

Ha, now it works! Smiley Sometimes, it takes the right mood to get in touch with a shot. Obviously, today I am in a different mood than for my first comment. Now, I feel I just am in the process of opening my eyes and this is the very first light that touches my retina. I like that abstraction, the fact I am not really trying to identify objects. I just enjoy the light and the color.

cheers

Thank you both for taking the time to post your reactions, and to revisit!

Though not in love with this initial image/first experiment, I am intrigued by what it might lead to.
