Though my first "shoebox" photo didn't receive any comments here, I'm still intrigued by the possibilities. Smiley

Again, very moody, romantic type of an image. Looks like you got a trend with your "shoebox" photos.

I think that this type of experimenting - while not excessively profound - adds a nice touch to your body of work. Show us some more, please...

I do like how easily this kind of shots help me to stop applying all the rules I learned so hard... it's fresh and it takes me right into a wondrous world. I love that effect!

cheers

while not excessively profound

That does touch on the fear that I don't really have anything to say, or am not particularly insightful. But... There is such delight in finding new ways to see, or ways to see things anew! So I'm going to keep running with that for awhile -- not just in the shoebox series, but overall. Smiley

In the hope it will lead to ways of revealing deeper connections, or to convey an experience. Akin to peeling back the layers of an onion.

Thank you both for taking the time to give your feedback, and the encouragement to continuing experimenting!

Do you look at or through a photo?

I have friends... man and wife... who have a deep belief in auras. They are convinced that all matter... animate and inanimate project them. And they argue that they can be glimpsed through the periphery of shadows and glimmers. They don't argue that the things are mystical nor spiritual... that they simply exist in a range of reality which lives in the scientist's cracks. Between disciplines, or flavors of study. In fact, they feel the things can be... not only seen, but scented, heard, tasted, and touched. And they wonder if auras are more apparent to artists than to technicians.

I've recently told them that I have a photographer friend who captures auras, like fireflies in her shoebox. Sweeeeet!

Happy Christmas April.... Merry New Year

Ted, I am captivated by the idea of catching auras, like fireflies, in the shoebox!

And have delayed a reply, because I wanted to keep that suggestion simmering in my "inbox".  Smiley

Perhaps I can capture winter auras, like snowflakes, in the shoebox, too. Hmmm...

(Cabin fever, definitely!)
